A Special Birthday Dinner and a Quick OOTD!

Hello my loveliessss,

A you could probably tell from the title of this blog, it was someone’s birthday today and to celebrate,  my family and I  went out for a lovely dinner! No, no it wasn’t my birthday, but my beautiful and caring mother’s birthday, who I love to the moon and back! We decided to go to one of my absolute favourite restaurants Bitton for dinner! I adore going there because 1. The food is so amazing it is not funny! 2. The staff are always really polite and kind and 3. The actual design and ‘vibe’ I get from this restaurant is outstanding!

While I was writing this blog, I thought to myself I a may as well write an OOTD so here it is… I didn’t actually wear this to dinner because in my opinion it didn’t look formal enough but I think it is such a great everyday outfit.

I usually don’t wear chokers, but the dress and top came with it so I put it on and I think it really matched the outfit. Of course I had to wear my converse because I am absolutely in love with them!

I chose to brighten up the outfit with a light green, embroidered bomber jacket.

So onto my super scrumptious dinner! As I said, we went to one of my favourite restaurants Bitton and my family and I all had such an amazing time. I ordered the John Dory steamed fish with potatoes and other yummy vegetables and I was not disappointed! The fish was perfectly cooked and was so delicious and tender!

This is what everybody else got: (by the way, the pics do not do the food justice!)

I am literally drooling at the thought of all the food 🙂

We had such a great time going out and my mum was surprised with delicious chocolate cupcakes and a chocolate fudge cake!

Happy Easter Everyone

EASTER!!!!!!!! Its such a great time of year! I don’t just love Easter because of all the chocolate eggs but I love it as it is such a festive and joyous time for both my immediate and extended family.

Every Easter morning since I can remember, my brother and I would go on an Easter egg hunt around the house. We would scramble up our slippery, leather couch and try and climb the bookshelves desperately searching for those precious eggs. In my brother’s mind it was probably just fun and games but in my mind it was a competition! I always felt so proud when I had more eggs than him (which was often) and would constantly tease him that I had more chocolate to eat. This was ironic since I don’t even like chocolate and would always give all my eggs to my chocoholic  family.

I would have to say one of my favourite Easter experiences at my home was when I was about 6 and I heard the loud, obnoxious noise of the door bell ringing. I walked to the door trying not to trip over my pyjamas that were a size too big for me and opened the door. Right in front of my eyes was a enormous golden chocolate egg nearly as tall as me! I stared in awe, my eyes getting larger by the second and then squealed at the top of my lungs. My family came rushing out of their rooms wondering what was wrong and when they saw the egg the all had the same look on their faces. I remember that Easter like it was yesterday and it is a precious memory I treasure close to my heart.

Another great tradition in my family is going to my grandparents house with my many cousins, uncles and aunties for Easter Sunday Lunch (or I should say a feast!) All the cousins participate in ANOTHER easter egg hunt down my grandparents’ steep driveway and all the aunties and uncles watch us amused from the balcony above. We all laugh and cheer and the atmosphere is filled with happiness and contentment. We would then wearily try and make it back to the house, our cheeks bright red and breathing heavily because  we would be so tired from running around and picking up all the chocolate eggs.

Now here comes the best part…. the FEAST!!!! How to explain, how to explain? The feast we have at Easter and Christmas is so delicious and mouth -watering I cannot start to explain all the amazing food we all devour. There is fried rice, and perfectly cooked meat, and salad, and freshly baked bread rolls, and potato bake, and chicken,  and sushi and every other food you can imagine! Devouring this feast is probably my favourite thing to do on Easter and I am sure it is everyone elses. After Easter lunch, in the evening my family goes to mass with full stomachs and beaming smiles.

Like instead of searching for chocolate eggs people in Haux, France celebrate Easter by eating a giant omelette made from 4,500 eggs feeding 1,00 people!

Also, people living in Corfu, Greece celebrate Easter  by smashing pots in the street outside their windows!

I hope you all have an eggscellent (get it!) Easter and eat as much chocolate as you can!
