Blog Post Ideas!

Heyyyaaa,

A few days ago, I was thinking about some blogging ideas and topics I had for future blog posts and I thought it would be a great idea to share some of these things with all of you! Occasionally I have blogging blocks and whenever that happens I look back onto my trusty blogging diary where I write down any ideas no matter how random they are (and trust me some are suppperrrrr random) each month and see if any of them spark my interest. I would definitely recommend using a notepad that you take with you wherever you go so you can quickly write down any thoughts you have without the risk of forgetting them.

I hope you like my ideas ❤️

Baked Sweet Potato Crisps!

Why hello there,

Today I am going  to do  another cooking blog! I haven’t done one for quite a bit of time so I thought it was time. I made Baked Sweet Potato Crisps and they were SO GOOOOOODDDDDDDD 😍 It makes me feel so good knowing that I am eating something so tasty that is actually healthy!

So here is the recipe (if you want to see the original click here):

I N G R E D I E N T S

2 Large Sweet Potatoes (I actually used 5, and therefore more olive oil and salt)

2 tablespoons of Olive Oil

1 teaspoon of salt

Half a teaspoon smoked Paprika

R E C I P E

  1. Preheat oven to 121 C or 250 degrees F
  2. Rinse thoroughly and dry the sweet potatoes
  3. Slice them as thin as possible. Use a mandolin if you have one. If you don’t have one use a very sharp knife. Know that chips that are too thick in parts won’t crisp up all the way. Still delicious, just not “chip” crispiness.

IMG_1862.JPG

  1. Toss slices in the olive oil to lightly coat and then sprinkle with salt.
  2.  Lay out in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for about 2 hours, flipping chips at least once at halfway point to ensure even cooking.

  1. Remove once crisp and golden brown. Leave for 10 minutes or so to crisp up before eating. Serve immediately afterwards
  2. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

(For some reason I lost the picture of the end result about 3.934 seconds before posting so this picture is from Paleo Grub 😂)Screen Shot 2018-02-11 at 4.46.42 pm.png

So that is it! I really hope you enjoyed reading this recipe and if you ever decide to make them I would absolutely love to see pictures!

Lemonade Scones!!

Hi there,

Today I decided to post a blog about some lemonade scones I made today because I haven’t posted a cooking blog in such a long time. Not to brag, but these are probably one of the tastiest scones I have tasted in my life!

These scones are so easy and fun to make and only require 6 ingredients not including toppings that are all pantry staples. Also, what I love is that you don’t need any fancy equipment to make the Lemonade Scones as you only need an oven and a rolling pin. They also are super quick to make and  from getting out the ingredients to putting the first amazing scone in your mouth it only takes around half an hour. Oh, and don’t be scared that there is lemonade in the scones, you can’t even taste it!

Also, if you want a cooking measurement converter then click  here. So here is the recipe:

Ingredients-

  • 2 cups (300g) self raising flour, sifted
  • 1/4 cup (55g) caster sugar
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) thickened cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) lemonade
  • 2 tablespoons (40ml) milk
  • Jam and whipped cream or you favourite toppings, to serve

Screen Shot 2017-06-18 at 4.51.01 pm.png

Method –

  1.  Preheat the oven to 220 c or 430 Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking tray
  2. Place the flour, sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a large bowl. Add the cream and lemonade and mix to form a soft dough. (do not worry if it looks crumbly and feels a bit weird, it just means you are doing it right)
  3. Screen Shot 2017-06-18 at 4.51.16 pm.png
  4. Turn out onto a lightly floured workbench and knead lightly until combined. Roll the dough with a roller to a thickness of about 2 centimetres or 0.8 inches.
  5. Screen Shot 2017-06-18 at 4.51.52 pm.png
  6. Use a 6 cm round cutter to cut out as many scones as you can, place on baking tray and brush the tops with some of the milk (you do not have to use it all). Re roll scraps to make a few extra scones if you can.
  7. Screen Shot 2017-06-18 at 4.51.31 pm.png
  8. Bake for 10-15min in the oven or until lightly browned.
  9. Serve warm with your favourite toppings (mine is jam and whipped cream!)
